The position of Senior CAD Designer is responsible for the technical tasks of performing drafting work to create and modify the design on the applicable engineering areas.

 

Position Description

Key Result Areas

  • Perform advanced and specialized drafting (2D and 3D) to support design activities
  • Use automated programs, interactive graphics, and design/construction information systems
  • Create comprehensive structural drawing sets
  • Calculate quantities for design purposes
  • Document Control and File Management: indexing, revisions and submissions, and record control
  • Coordinate with client, engineer, fabrication, and construction to meet fabrication and constructability requirements
  • Self-check own work for completeness and accuracy to ensure standards have been met

Education

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 8 years of similar experience of progressive responsibility

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient use of AutoCAD 2D & 3D
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to integrate with outside support and various CAD platforms
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired Qualifications

  • Autodesk Inventor
  • Ability to develop CAD platforms and provide ROI forecasts
  • Able to create comprehensive mechanical and electrical drawing sets.
  • 3D animation / Photorealistic rendering experience
  • V-lisp / I-logic / VB experience
