As a member of the organization's Senior Leadership team, the Director of Project Management is expected to have an immediate and long-term impact on the overall success of the management of projects including overall leadership, management, direction, and development of project and support staff for the execution of complex construction projects throughout the continental US. The position has primary accountability for the efficient flow of activities as soon as the project is handed off from Preconstruction Services for various design/build and design/bid/build elevated water storage projects throughout the United States. 

 

Position Description

Key Result Areas

  • Project execution, client relationships, contractual dispute resolution, project coordination from design to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and report activities of multiple project teams.
  • Coordinate the involvement of all consultants, engineers, equipment needs, and vendors witht he project team.
  • Manage and execute client's goals while improving project profitability.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, collections, operations, and forecast data to steer progress toward stated goals and objectives in fulfillment of client expectations.
  • Hire, cultivate, and manage Team as needed fostering development of project management strengths and team members to ensure sufficient succession planning throughout various levels of the department.
  • Support Business Development and Marketing functions to further sales growth.
  • Collaborate with construction operations to ensure smooth construction of projects and solid communications between departments.
  • Helps establish company's strategic plan, goals and ideas communicating the core values of the Company through leadership and example
  • Ensures safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA guidelines are properly followed; Enforce company expectations for all employees in regards to safety, quality, attendance, attitude, effort, employee relations and responsibility for self and others.
  • Ensures individuals are accountable for assigned tasks/projects through active involvement with the project managers and staff; Ensures that sufficient plans and preparation have been made to allow quality work to be completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or comparable field of study.
  • Minimum of 10 years of similar experience of progressive responsibility in a supervisory role with a "Best in Class" Specialty Construction or Heavy Construction business.
  • Experience with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience with discipline-specific industry standards (API, ASME, AWWA, NACE, ACI, etc.).
  • Experience directing, training, and motivating field personnel.
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering scheduling practices, software, and critical path identification.
  • Experience in a strong business, construction management, and delivery methodologies background.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in a design/build construction market.
  • Experience in a majority self-performance construction environment.
